Step one:  After the structure is built, Take a pair of post-hole diggers and dig a hole 2 to 3 ft deep and 8 to 12 inches in diameter .These can be done on inside of structure or the outside. Minimum of 4 piers on a 20 ft long unit. if longer than 20 ft, add more pier holes on each side. The taller the unit, the more peer holes you should add. This will give you a lot more stability with the structure. and will increase the wind rating.
Next step, have ready mix concrete (purchase at home centers like Home Depot or Lowes). Dump in hole, then place a 2 inch by 2 inch piece of angle iron into the hole filled with concrete. Let it set up for 24 hours or longer, then run self-tapping screws into the legs through the angle iron. You should have surface contact from the ground to the top of the angle iron anchor. Angle iron anchor should be at least 80% of the height of the legs or more. By connecting the angle iron anchors (which are now in concrete) you are essentially putting the unit in concrete. we are not engineers, but this system makes a lot of sense. Obviously the more pier holes and anchors you have in place, the stronger the unit will be as far as wind resistance goes.
